We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and employees.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees.
- Respond to emergencies, fire alarms, and hazardous material incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Enforce hospital rules and regulations, and provide assistance to patients, visitors, and employees as needed.
- Participate in fire drills and fire and safety programs for employees, and work cooperatively with local fire departments.
- Direct traffic on hospital property, enforce traffic and parking regulations, and assist patients, visitors, and employees with vehicle problems.
- Provide routine escort and emergent delivery services to campus facilities.
- Participate in the orientation of new employees and students in fire, safety, and security policies, and train in fire fighting techniques and the use of equipment.
- Lock and unlock doors, operate security technology equipment, and perform emergency and hazardous material response services.
- Investigate employee, visitor, and patient complaints, and work cooperatively with local police departments and authorities.
- Complete detailed reports on incidents, thefts, and losses.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
