About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mohs Tissue Technician to join our dynamic team at UCLA Health. As a key member of our dermatology laboratory, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic analysis
  • Perform routine staining procedures, including special stains and immunohistochemistry
  • Embed and cut tissue samples for slide preparation
  • Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, adhering to OSHA standards and CLIA protocols
  • Collaborate with faculty, residents, and clinical staff to ensure accurate and timely results
  • Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot equipment and reagents as needed
Requirements
  • Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science or equivalent experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • At least 6 months of experience as a Mohs Tissue Technician in a laboratory setting
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active membership in the American Society of Mohs Histotechnology and National Society of Histotechnology
  • Mohs Technician Certificate
