Job Title: MEP Superintendent

Job Summary:

Turner Construction is seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to lead our construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our projects, focusing on safety, schedule, quality, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the work of subcontractors and Turner trade labor for Mechanical and Electrical systems
  • Ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed, and adherence to budget
  • Supervise Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns
  • Manage site safety programs and ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and safety codes
  • Communicate with owners and architects/engineers on field issues and resolve them
  • Manage billing processes, estimate work completed, and oversee subcontractor payments
  • Coordinate with the Engineer on mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and piping layouts
  • Lead project inspections, startup, commissioning, turnover, and training processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 6 years of mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction experience
  • Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling, and cost control procedures
  • Specific knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems
  • Thorough knowledge of building information modeling and its use in coordination of project systems
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to climb stairs, use construction personnel hoists, and negotiate work areas under construction
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk, and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds

Work Environment:

  • Regularly works on-site at the construction work site, exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock
  • Noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud
