Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our MICU team at Northwest Texas Healthcare System. As a Registered Nurse in our MICU, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and contribute to a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate an age-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education.
  • Maintain professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing appropriate resources as needed.
  • Provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
  • Assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions.
  • Comply with appropriate and approved standards, as outlined by the organization and accrediting agencies.
  • Comply with safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk to self, co-workers, patients, and visitors.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s).
  • BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation) and maintain certification throughout employment.
  • Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
  • De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.
  • Ongoing compliance with demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies as determined by the facility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year full-time or three years part-time experience in an acute care setting.
  • CCRN, TNCC, and Cardiovascular certification preferred for specialty units.
  • 100% score on medication test.
  • ACLS completion within three months after hire or promotion.
