Job Title: Youth Mental Health Tech: Fri/Sat AM

Job Summary:

Mission Prep is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mental Health Tech to join our team in providing exceptional care to our adolescent clients at our Residential Mental Health facility in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well-being of our clients, working closely with our experienced clinical team to ensure the highest level of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and transport clients safely to all daily activities, ensuring timely arrival and participant safety.
  • Utilize effective intervention and communication skills in working with clients, their families, and significant others daily and in crisis situations.
  • Adhere to all Joint Commission policies and procedures, including Waived Testing, Infection Prevention and Control, Emergency Management, and Environment of Care procedures.
  • Navigate and utilize the BestNotes electronic health record system to document client activities effectively.
  • Collaborate with the program nurse and clinical team regarding medication management, monitoring and reporting client behavior with medication side effects.
  • Maintain the integrity of the residences, ensuring optimal cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Facilitate recovery and clinically indicated activities and groups according to organization policy and document into the electronic health record.
  • Conduct observation rounds to ensure client safety and document client behavior and participation in treatment.
  • Responsible for client attendance of daily recovery activities as scheduled.
  • Assist with intakes and discharges of clients according to AMFM Healthcare's policies and procedures.
  • Assist in crisis intervention when needed.
  • Conduct orientation to new residents, including reviewing safety drills, exit routes, evacuation procedures, and first-aid kits.

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications: Minimum- High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or any closely related field.
  • Successful completion of Criminal Background Check through a CDSS/DOJ Bureau of Criminal Information & Analysis LiveScan, and ADP Selective Services Screening.
  • Ability to be covered under the company vehicle insurance (valid US driver license; 4 years of clean licensed driving history; at least 21 years of age).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 20 lbs.

Compensation:

$19.00-$23.00/hour. Pay depends on education and related work experience.
