Job Summary

The Material Handler works under limited supervision, responsible to perform a variety of duties efficiently with high quality results. This position requires working knowledge of inventory management and prior experience in Receiving is required. Material handling equipment experience is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receives incoming material from suppliers and uses a scan gun and printer to scan in the materials and print the appropriate label for the materials.
  • Works under limited supervision to complete tasks in an efficient timeframe with high quality.
  • Pulls and stages material in designated staging areas, for both shipping and production use.
  • Responsible for packaging shipments, this includes the use of nail guns and saw equipment.
  • Utilizes a forklift and overhead cranes.
  • Maintains, inspects, and cleans equipment as required.
  • Keeps an organized work area by performing various housekeeping and maintenance functions following 6S philosophies.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations, environmental procedures, and utilizes required safety equipment when appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
Requirements
  • Position requires working knowledge of inventory management and prior experience in Receiving is required.
  • Material handling equipment experience.
  • Incumbent must follow all safety rules, environmental procedures, and utilize required safety equipment.
  • One year experience in the production or distribution field.
  • Attained high school diploma or equivalent.
