Material Handler

Job Title: Material Handler Job Description As a Material Handler, you will primarily operate a stand-up forklift (Crown Brand) to handle products weighing up to 2000lbs. You will spend approximately 75-90% of your day on the forklift, frequently getting on and off to pull, pick, and stage products. You will also prepare orders for shipment using a computer-generated work order, ensure products meet quality specifications, and load them into semi-trailers. Additionally, you will perform safety checks on various warehouse equipment including the forklift, man-up, and order picker. Responsibilities Operate a stand-up forklift (Crown Brand). Handle products weighing up to 2000lbs. Prepare orders for shipment using computer-generated work orders. Check products and load them into semi-trailers for shipment. Ensure that products and shipments meet quality specifications. Perform safety checks on various warehouse equipment, including stand-up forklift, man-up, and order picker. Consistently get on and off the forklift to adjust, push, and pull pallets while bending. Essential Skills 6+ months of recent experience operating a stand-up forklift (preferably Crown Brand, but not required). Comfortable reading and writing work reports to pick and pull. Proficient in using computers. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and standing on feet all day in steel-toe shoes. Willing to submit to a background check. Additional Skills & Qualifications Material handling experience. Order picking and shipping experience. Stocking experience. Proficiency in using pallet jacks and order pickers. Work Environment You will work in a brand new, very clean facility. The distribution center, which is 248,489 square feet, recently moved into its own building separate from manufacturing. The job is on the 2nd shift, from 2:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday to Friday, with up to 2 hours of overtime after shifts. One Saturday of overtime per month is mandatory, with advance notice provided and occasional cancellations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, Minnesota.
