Pharmacy Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II - Inpatient - Casual to join our team at Highmark Health. As a Pharmacy Technician II - Inpatient - Casual, you will play a critical role in providing distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support for our registered pharmacists.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Order Processing: Process medication orders, including computer order entry, medication preparation, and assembling all items prior to pharmacist final check.
- Inventory Management: Maintain pharmacy inventory and supplies according to established policies and procedures, including inspection of assigned areas and use of pharmacy computer systems.
- Customer Service: Provide customer service by taking patient prescriptions and documenting all required information, handling all customer interactions in a courteous and efficient manner, and releasing medications required by policy/procedure.
- Insurance and Cash Handling: For Outpatient Techs, validate Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial insurance drug coverage and ensure adjudication is complete, addressing any error messages, and handle cash, prepare deposits, and accounting reports.
- Compounding and Preparation: For Inpatient Techs, compound, stock, repack, and batch from bulk medications, prepare routine patient orders for IV pharmaceuticals, including compounding, preparation, and labeling of any IV admixture.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT Pharmacy Technician - National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Incumbents in role as of July 1, 2022 must achieve CPhT by 1/1/2024.
- Education and Experience: Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or 1 year equivalent experience in lieu of formal training program.
- Experience: 1 year of pharmacy experience in respective area.
