Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Navigator at New England Cancer Specialists. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care and provide individualized support throughout the treatment process.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About Our Practice

New England Cancer Specialists is a private medical practice composed of 18 Oncologists and hematologists serving the region from 5 different locations in Maine and New Hampshire. Our mission is to make life better for people with cancer and blood disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients and families in navigating the complex healthcare system, including scheduling appointments, coordinating tests and procedures, and communicating with healthcare teams.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on treatment options, side effects, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Nurse within the state of New Hampshire or a Compact License with the State of Maine required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • OCN Certification Preferred.
  • Two years of Hematology/Chemotherapy/Oncology nursing experience preferred.
  • ONS Chemotherapy & Bio-therapy Certification required or have the ability to get certification within one year of employment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.

Salary and Benefits

$90,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience. Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off.
