This role acts as a vital link, providing support to pharmacy staff, technicians, and hospital personnel to ensure comprehensive care for patients receiving cancer therapies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conducts collaborative rounds with the healthcare team to deliver pharmaceutical care aimed at achieving optimal therapeutic outcomes.
2. Reviews medication profiles to ensure appropriate drug selection, dosage, administration route, and frequency.
3. Identifies and resolves existing drug-related issues while developing strategies to prevent potential medication-related complications.
4. Oversees all distributive aspects of pharmaceutical care provided to patients.
5. Enhances systems and processes to guarantee the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of pharmaceutical services.
6. Guides pharmacists through educational initiatives to bolster their understanding of pharmacotherapy and patient monitoring.
7. Manages the human resources within the program, addressing talent acquisition, scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Education: Required: Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy; advanced degree in Pharmacy and/or completion of a residency in a hospital pharmacy accredited by the American Society of Health.
Experience: Required: A minimum of three years of experience as a pharmacy technician or in prior authorization and/or copay assistance programs, or a combination of both.
Licensure/Certification: Required: Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) must be obtained within one year of hire; current licensure to practice pharmacy in North Carolina or eligibility to secure a North Carolina pharmacy license within two months of hire.
