Position Overview

The primary function of this role is to manage the logistics of inbound and outbound carriers for shipments associated with the Ole Smoky production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the logistics of carrier transportation.
  • Generate and maintain all necessary documentation related to carrier shipments, including Bills of Lading, Packing Slips, and Shipping Instructions.
  • Update and manage the shipping calendar to reflect daily changes and updates.
  • Collaborate closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure effective transportation scheduling.
  • Input data into Transportation Management Systems and NetSuite.
  • Engage in additional logistics and transportation projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or Transportation is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a logistics or transportation role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to adhere to the chain of command and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Capacity to be proactive, manage multiple tasks, and follow up effectively.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit and work on a computer.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and engage in verbal communication.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and perform physical activities such as stooping or kneeling.
  • May need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
