Job Summary:

The Nutrition Services Aide position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of Nutrition Services. This role may involve preparing and/or serving food items, preparing tables and trays, washing tableware and cooking items, performing general cleaning tasks, and delivering soiled linen to the laundry department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assure that sanitation and quality standards are met.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, tableware, and utensils as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment as assigned.
  • Complete logs as assigned.
  • Prepare dining room tables and patient room trays with proper tableware, condiments, and tray ticket.
  • Perform various food preparation tasks and assist in apportioning servings.
  • Prepare and serve beverages for trayline and dining rooms.
  • Perform other cleaning tasks according to established schedules.
  • Prepare and/or deliver nourishment and supplements identified with patient labels.
  • Maintain tray tickets making changes as may be directed or necessary.
  • Deliver soiled linens to laundry.
  • Identify and correct safety hazards.
  • Fills orders for between-meal nourishments as assigned.
  • Wrap flatware in napkins, as applicable.
  • Clear and wipe dining tables and trayline following meals.
  • Maintain daily care of dishwashing, pot/pan, lavatory, and hand sinks, worktables, dish storage areas.
  • Empties trash cans per shift and cleans as assigned.
  • Perform floor care by sweeping and/or mopping.
Requirements:
  • Current state Food Handler Certificate.
  • Experience in food service and using food service equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
