Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Specialist to join our team at the Justice, Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System. As a Sports Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing leisure-time activities in a correctional institution, including individual and team sports such as weight-lifting, track, basketball, softball, and flag football.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement sports programs, including intramural sports and tournaments
  • Develop and adapt recreational activities to meet the needs and interests of participants
  • Schedule and publicize sporting events to attract and motivate participants
  • Maintain security of the institution and perform correctional staff responsibilities
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must have at least three years of general experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least the GL-04 level
  • Experience in physical education, athletic administration, or coaching is highly desirable
