Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Asset Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of special assets held in trusts, estates, and agency accounts. This includes taking possession of the asset, coordinating its management, evaluating its investment potential, and recommending the investment policy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement asset management strategies to maximize returns and minimize risk.
  2. Coordinate and complete annual investment reviews and valuations, including the formulation of investment recommendations.
  3. Manage a portfolio of complex assets, reviewing critical documents and financial data to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Assist in the evaluation and remediation of new assets.
  5. Work with partners, fiduciaries, and third parties to make business decisions regarding the asset.
  6. Collect and review information necessary for ongoing asset management and annual investment reviews.
  7. Make recommendations, receive and review appraisals, and value assets as necessary.
  8. Advise account administrators and clients on asset activities and issues.
  9. Make recommendations to management committees regarding the suitability of retaining an asset.
  10. Sell or assist in the sales of assets from fiduciary accounts when appropriate.
  11. Ensure revenues are collected, expenses are paid, and asset is removed from record or documentation.
  12. Coordinate the execution of contracts, legal documents, and closing documents subject to trust attorney review.
  13. Act as manager, officer, and/or director of entities when approved by senior management.
  14. Monitor newly assigned assets to ensure they are placed on record and coded/valued appropriately.
  15. Assist with the resolution of audit and regulatory issues within agreed timeframes.
  16. Participate in marketing, business development, and prospecting activities as needed.
  17. Provide comprehensive consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of experience in the management of special assets.
  • Subject matter specific knowledge of asset management, investment products, and fiduciary matters.
  • Analytical, negotiation, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Accounting and financial analysis skills may also be required.
