Job Title: Hydraulic Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Engineer to join our team of experts in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting complex hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design projects, including 1-D and 2-D open channel hydraulic modeling, aquatic habitat restoration, and hydraulic structure analysis and design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct civil engineering, hydrologic, and hydraulic modeling studies and designs for surface water resources, watershed characteristics, and stream flow characteristics.
  • Utilize computerized models for analysis and design, including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SWMM.
  • Participate in or lead field data collection activities, including hydrographic surveys, stormwater runoff, and water quality assessment.
  • Field duties may include river transect surveys, discharge measurements, and suspended and bed material sampling.
  • Manage projects and contracts to meet client requirements and develop business in strategic growth market areas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 3+ years of professional engineer experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, design experience a plus.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools, including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SWMM.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record, with ability to operate 2WD and 4WD vehicles.
  • Willingness to travel within the US for up to one week at a time (20% of total responsibilities).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active PE or EIT certification (or actively working towards P.E).
  • Two-dimensional and sediment transport modeling experience.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams of biologists, ecologists, geomorphologists, and planners.
  • Experience with survey-grade GPS.
  • Boat operation experience.

Compensation:

Hourly rate starting at $45/hour, with exact compensation varying based on skills, experience, and education.
