Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Veolia North America. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the survey, design, installation oversight, and commissioning of metering equipment and data gathering hardware. You will also oversee contractor work at certain phases of the project and provide support to the contractor for build/assembly of scope of supply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning and start-up of utility grade metering equipment
  • Engineer and design of new or modified advanced metering systems equipped to meet customer objectives
  • Review project, equipment, and proposed design plans to ensure they meet specifications
  • Conduct on-site surveys/walkthroughs with operating, contractors, and engineering personnel
  • Conduct lab testing as needed for process troubleshooting or process optimization
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, and re-build of existing equipment in the field
  • Compose documentation/procedures, internal memoranda, and reports in a timely manner

Requirements

  • BS (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field strongly preferred
  • Thorough understanding of electric circuits and making decisions based on diagrams is a requirement
  • Experience using AutoCAD or Visio to create or modify design documents
  • Implementation and support experience with control systems and/or DCS systems is required
  • PLC and logic programming, configuration, and support experience is required
  • Thorough understanding of network communications and OT cybersecurity concepts is required
  • Thorough understanding of control panel design and wiring and plant instrumentation is preferred
  • Experience with databases and SQL queries, PC/server configuration, thin client systems, and/or VMware is a plus
  • Experience in the Energy industries is a plus
  • Experience working in an integrated IT/OT environment with frequent collaboration with IT personnel is a plus
