Machine Direction Orientation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Direction Orientation Specialist to join our team at ISOFlex a Division of Sigma Plastics. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring quality and zone safety, setting up orders on production lines, and ensuring that all packaging is done per extrusion specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor quality on each production line in their zone at shift change and on an hourly basis.
- Verify that packaging is being done per extrusion specifications, including correct pallets and inventory.
- Complete checks cross on other zones at least once per day.
- Perform a mic sheet for each line once per week.
- Check blenders at shift change.
- Complete a 1st piece check sheet for each change over.
- Verify all paperwork is complete and accurate, including tally sheets, inventory locators, extrusion work orders, and daily production reports.
- Promote safety awareness throughout the plant and ensure all employees have required PPE and follow safety policies.
- Report any defective equipment or safety hazards to the Shift Supervisor.
- Ensure all employees receive appropriate breaks per shift.
- Maintain work zone housekeeping throughout the shift.
- Clean and remove printing equipment and supplies.
- Maximize production rates while maintaining a quality product.
- Prepare for upcoming order changes at least 2 hours in advance.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must have Machine Direction Orientation experience, with W&H Machine experience preferred. Blown film extrusion experience is also preferred, and printing experience is a plus.
Working ConditionsThis position follows a 14-day cycle with employees working 12-hour shifts each day. The 2-2-3 schedule requires employees to work two or three consecutive days interspersed with two or three consecutive days off. Both day and night shift positions are available.
