We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at Alpha Baking Company. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of personnel within the bun production and packaging areas.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate the activities of production personnel to ensure efficient and effective production of high-quality bakery products.
- Monitor and control process standards relative to mixing, fermentation, dividing, molding, proofing, baking, slicing, packaging, and coding.
- Ensure the adequate supply of materials needed to complete production requirements.
- Monitor and complete process control and quality assurance documents to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct training and indoctrination of hourly employees in their job functions, Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety, and company policies.
- Complete all required documents and reports per company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain communications with department head regarding employee, equipment, process control, quality, safety, or sanitation issues.
- Report maintenance and sanitation issues to the Maintenance and/or Sanitation Departments.
- Consult and discipline employees as necessary to maintain a safe, sanitary, and productive work environment.
- Hear and resolve employee grievances at the step-one level.
- Assist other departments as needed and perform other duties assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- 1 year of prior supervisory experience.
- Fluency in MS Office, including MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
Alpha Baking Company, Inc. is a national distributor of breads, rolls, and buns, as well as sweet goods. We have three production plants in Illinois and others in Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Our products can be found in national restaurant chains, quick service restaurants, schools, institutions, major league sports franchises, national grocery chains, and independent grocery stores.
