Job Overview:

Prairie Band, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Apprentice to join our team. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will assist experienced electricians in various tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Skilled Electricians: You will work alongside experienced electricians to complete tasks such as loading and unloading materials, transporting supplies to designated work areas, preparing work sites, and assisting with digging trenches and holes for electrical conduits and wiring.
  • Preparation and Cleanup: You will be responsible for clearing debris, setting up temporary barriers, and ensuring proper access for equipment and personnel.
  • Material Handling: You will assist in loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Age and Education: Must be at least 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, bend, kneel frequently, and stand for long periods.
  • Work Environment: Willingness to work in all seasons and conditions throughout the year, including extreme temperatures.
  • Background and Drug Screen: Must pass pre-employment tests, including a background check and drug screen.
  • Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Journeyman Certification: Must be willing to obtain journeyman certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and possess strong communication skills.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on location and experience.

Additional Information:

This position is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, and preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B).
