About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our data center electrical design efforts. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the electrical design aspects of our facilities, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and scalability.

This role requires travel to various data center sites.

  • Manage electrical engineering initiatives for our data centers.
  • Oversee the design of electrical systems for new data center facilities.
  • Develop and implement electrical engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure complete and cohesive coordination of our electrical data center infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate on budgets, schedules, and resources for engineering projects.
  • Assist with identifying areas for improvement on processes and procedures of electrical design and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Work closely with 3rd party consultants and vendors to ensure compliance with Basis of Design and Company Standards.
  • Review Design Drawings, Specifications and Shop Drawings submitted for owner's review.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineering license preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data center engineering.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing data center design projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data center electrical systems, such as Substations, Emergency Generators, Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), Lithium Ion Battery Plants and Fire Alarm.
  • Familiarity with Emergency Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems with ability to develop controls sequences and monitoring protocols.
  • Experience with large-scale, high-density data centers and cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, BICSI, or similar) are a plus.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $170,000 and $190,000, reflecting the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
