About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated CDL Driver and Distribution Associate to join our team at Express Employment Professionals in Augusta, GA. The successful candidate will have experience in logistics and distribution, with a strong focus on customer service and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Unload trucks onto designated receiving areas and move freight, stock, pipe, parts, and other materials to and from unloading areas, storage areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, boxes, pallets, or containers, by hand or using hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other machinery as authorized and directed.
  2. Inspect the product for damage. Note in detail any damage to the freight bill.
  3. Record needed shipment data, such as weight, freight charges, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
  4. Verify that the shipment is intended for this facility and not another.
  5. Prepare documents as needed/required for shipping an order.
  6. Pull all orders for the next day shipment before leaving work.
  7. Notify salesperson if the material is short.
  8. Load outgoing shipments onto trucks and ship orders on common carriers.
  9. Organize pallets and stacks in a safe area. Stage all material in the proper area.
  10. Contact carrier representatives to decide or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  11. Report to the supervisor or manager any problems, damages, shortages, or other issues or areas of concern.
  12. Complete all shipping paperwork in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
  • Current and Valid Class A CDL License.
  • Reliable Transportation.
  • Customer Service.
  • Ability to learn the use of Eclipse software.
  • Ability to be careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers and Co-workers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to accurately measure lengths and diameters.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral or diagram instructions.
  • Ability to use personal computer using software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and video conferencing software.
  • Ability to learn to use tablets, RF guns, and other simple technology that may be used in performance of job.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
