High-Powered Solar Module Engineer for Satellite Constellation

Job Description
We are seeking a highly innovative and dynamic individual to design high-power solar modules for our satellite constellation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining, analyzing, and testing solar module designs to meet end-of-life power requirements. You will apply research and creativity to develop reliable and efficient solar modules that meet our satellite's reliability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and improve upon solar modules used on our Kuiper Satellites
- Analyze requirements for trade studies and interfaces with solar array assemblies
- Create, iterate, and own detailed CAD models of solar module design options
- Analyze load conditions and respond to static, dynamic, thermal, and fatigue loads for compliance
- Buildevelopment sample solar modules as pathfinders for further process and design improvements
- Develop test plans with variable isolation DOE's and statistical analysis for long-term reliability assessments
- Define qualification plans and identify acceptance testing methods at volume production
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, or equivalent
- 4 years minimum work experience as a mechanical engineer
- 2 years minimum work experience on Solar Modules, Solar Cells, or Solar Arrays
- Proficiency with CAD (Computer Aided Design) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems
- Experience defining and writing requirements and test plans for complex systems
Salary
The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
