Job Opportunity: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Marx|Okubo and Assoc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Denver or Chicago. As a trusted national architecture/engineering/construction consulting firm, we work with real estate owners, investors, and lenders to evaluate building projects, solve complex challenges, and implement tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct property condition assessments (PCAs) and provide estimations of probable costs
  • Peer review building designs and perform energy audits, system commissioning, forensic evaluations, construction management, and design evaluations of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Interact with site personnel and clients, leveraging your passion for and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and engineering
  • Engage in a diverse array of projects offering unique challenges and opportunities to make a tangible impact
  • Travel to project sites is required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or Architectural Engineering (BSAE) with a mechanical or electrical specialty, PE, and at least 15 years' experience in the engineering design and evaluation of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management successes are expected
  • HVAC and plumbing system expertise is required, along with a fundamental knowledge of electrical and fire protection systems
  • Candidates will possess a working knowledge of national and state building codes and experience in facilities engineering, energy audits, commissioning, and sustainability consulting
  • Ability to integrate your interest in Sustainability with practical legal requirements to provide expert solutions to our clients
  • Ability to market services to existing and new clients
  • LEED or CEM certificates are a plus
  • The ability to communicate in a professional manner, remain organized, and multitask are essential
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Box

The salary range listed for this role is $120,000-$140,000 though may vary based on location and aligned experience level.
