Liability Claims Manager

Role Overview:
Safety National seeks a skilled Liability Claims Manager to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the Claims Department, you will be responsible for handling complex claims of various insurance products from identification through closure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain ongoing case evaluations and manage litigation, including the selection and monitoring of counsel in accordance with department litigation guidelines.
- Conduct thorough coverage review and advise Third Party Administrators (TPAs) regarding claims handling and reporting.
- Identify cost-effective resolution strategies and negotiate claim settlements within established authority.
- Collaborate with leadership team on settlements over authority limit and maintain timely expense and indemnity reserves.
- Collaborate with Underwriters and travel for audits, meetings, settlement conferences, and trial monitoring as needed.
Requirements:
- 5 or more years of related experience with active litigation or adjusting higher exposure claims.
- Prior experience with analyzing coverage issues and drafting reservation of rights and coverage letters.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently and prioritize work effectively.
- Willingness to travel as required to meet business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multiple jurisdictions with an insurance carrier or Third Party Administrator.
- Experience with all phases of claims litigation from inception through post judgment.
- Designations such as AIC, SCLA, or CLCS.
