Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Materials Scientist to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. This individual will play a key role in serving as a strategic technical consultant to the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) and other energy clients.
About the Job
This position involves creating and applying next-generation materials by guiding the design, evaluation, and management of government and private sector sponsored research and development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Inform clients about emerging materials technology needs
- Collaborate with technology experts to leverage rapidly maturing technology from other sectors
- Create new materials and materials processing methods that reduce emissions and increase energy systems efficiency
Requirements
- Authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences on research pertaining to materials science or materials engineering
- Able to travel up to 15%
- Doctorate degree in a Materials Science or Materials Engineering field
- 2+ years of experience with extractive metallurgy, mineral processing, high performance steels and superalloys, refractory metals, or magnetic materials in postdoctoral, academic, or industry roles
Compensation Package
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $60,400 to $137,000. Our total compensation package includes health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, as well as paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work-life programs, and dependent care.
