Materials ScientistImmerse yourself in cutting-edge technologies while serving as a strategic technical consultant to the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) and other energy clients. Create and apply next-generation materials by guiding the design, evaluation, and management of government and private sector sponsored Research and Development (R&D) programs. Help to inform our clients about emerging materials technology needs. Engage and collaborate with a diverse group of technology experts to leverage rapidly maturing technology from other sectors to create new materials and materials processing methods that reduce emissions and increase energy systems efficiency. Join our team and help to guide the energy sector towards sustainable solutions. This position will require travel of up to 15% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences on research pertaining to materials science or materials engineering
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Doctorate degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field
Additional Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in postdoctoral, academic, or industry roles related to ceramics, cementitious materials, or semiconductor fabrication
- Experience in a consulting or advisory role
- Ability to demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness when dealing with uncertainty and ask insightful questions that challenge traditional thinking
- Possession of excellent organizational, client service, and analytical skills
Vetting:
Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.
Compensation:
The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
