We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Professional Nurse to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our Medical/Surgical Cardiac Hospitalist department.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care, with a focus on progress toward discharge.
- Deliver and coordinate patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring competent and compassionate care is uniformly provided to customers.
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of New York.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical Cardiac Hospitalist setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality.
