Job Description

Reports To: Construction Manager

Employment Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to manage various types of construction machinery with a focus on safety while working around existing utilities. Candidates with experience in the telecommunications construction sector are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently and safely operate heavy machinery
  • Interpret work requirements from construction plans
  • Utilize equipment for the excavation and disposal of soil and debris
  • Assist in the installation of cables using machinery
  • Represent the company in a professional manner
  • Maintain and clean vehicles and equipment regularly
  • Execute tasks in both standard and high-risk environments
  • Work throughout the year and travel to various job sites

Required Skills:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proficient in operating heavy equipment safely
  • Understanding of utility depth and placement
  • Excellent interpersonal communication abilities
  • Physical capability to lift and transport heavy materials

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
  • OSHA certification
