Utility Operator

Martin Marietta is seeking a skilled Utility Person to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient performance of cross-functional duties in plant maintenance, production, and equipment operation.

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment, including cutting and welding under the guidance of the plant manager or other designated personnel.
• Conduct daily pre/post-shift inspections on equipment and maintain maintenance logs.
• Operate a skid steer, front end loader, and other tools to clean around plant equipment and maintain roadways and parking areas.
• Operate a water truck to limit airborne dust.
• Participate in plant operations, including production, loading and shipping, and quality control.
• Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility and safe traffic flow throughout the site.
• Operate plant-specific mobile equipment, such as excavators and haul trucks, in a safe manner as needed.
• Aid in the training of co-workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position.
• Have experience in the building materials industry (preferred).
