- Perform essential vehicle maintenance and repairs under moderate supervision, including the replacement of components such as light bulbs, belts, and batteries.
- Conduct mechanical repairs, including brake inspections, engine tune-ups, and transmission work.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including parts and supplies utilized.
- Assist senior technicians with preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
- Support the removal and replacement of major vehicle components with guidance from experienced technicians.
- Diagnose vehicle issues and execute repairs with moderate oversight.
- Report any safety concerns regarding equipment to supervisors.
- Evaluate completed work for quality assurance before vehicle release.
- Provide assistance during road calls and emergency situations.
- Maintain all shop equipment in good working condition.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair.
- Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within three months of hire).
- State inspection license (if applicable).
- ASE Certification is preferred, with a commitment to complete three ASE certifications within the first year.
- Intermediate mechanical skills with a minimum of three years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
- Adherence to state DOT standards for vehicle inspections and safety.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and intermediate computer skills.
- Comfortable using hand tools and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Work in a maintenance shop environment with exposure to dust and grease.
- Ability to perform tasks in various weather conditions.
- Capability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and various positions.
