The Clinical Research Financial Analyst for our Clinical Research team primarily concentrates on collections and optimizing general accounting and contract-related processes. This role also involves maintaining financial records and ensuring accurate documentation of financial transactions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage and record deposits received utilizing various tools and spreadsheets.
2. Create and maintain reports in Excel and other accounting software to monitor transactions and changes.
3. Compare customer budgets against invoices generated in the system.
4. Analyze patient visits in relation to tracking systems.
5. Document all revenues reported in the current month by generating invoices that align with sponsors' budgets and procedures performed.
6. Finalize contract and budget reviews.7. Address inquiries and resolve both internal and external issues.
8. Enhance and streamline processes within the Finance department.
9. Undertake ad-hoc projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in gathering and analyzing financial data/reports using Excel; familiarity with tools such as Crio and QuickBooks is preferred.
- Ability to apply financial guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance and control.
- Capable of managing escalated customer issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to consistently meet assignment deadlines.
- Aptitude for improving processes through automation and optimization.
- Knowledge of business management and fiscal practices.
- Ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
PHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS:
This position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, extensive computer use, and phone interaction. Additionally, the role may require occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds for office supplies or equipment.
