Position Overview

HDR is looking for a Lead Project Manager to oversee engineering projects for various clients, including the Department of Defense (DoD), as a vital member of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multidisciplinary design teams for projects across the Pacific Region, including remote teams.
  • Lead projects of varying technical complexities for federal and non-federal clients.
  • Prepare and review engineering scopes of work and budgets for proposals, while tracking budget and schedule status.
  • Coordinate with clients to ensure successful project delivery, managing scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Establish work priorities, review workload, project status, and staffing requirements with team members and subconsultants.
  • Implement necessary changes in design standards, procedures, and deliverables based on codes, regulations, and client standards.
  • Conduct quality control reviews and provide mentoring to employees, set goals, and perform performance reviews to enhance skill levels.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years of relevant experience (15+ preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • PE license, with preference for state of Hawaii PE license
  • Civil Engineering design experience in the Pacific Region
  • Familiarity with Unified Facility Criteria (UFC)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
  • Leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills

Preferred:

  • Experience managing projects for DoD clients
  • Ability to work from our Oahu office
