Catholic Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Anesthesiologist to join our team. As an Anesthesiologist at our facility, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia services to patients undergoing various medical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer general and regional anesthetics and pain medication, adjusting as needed before, during, and after surgery and other procedures.
- Provide anesthesia maintenance and adjustment before, during, and after procedures.
- Order diagnostic tests as needed.
- Work closely with surgical specialists.
- Perform venous and arterial punctures.
- Provide post-anesthesia care and evaluation.
- Provide and monitor mechanical ventilation.
- Communicate with patients, and their families and caregivers.
- React appropriately to adverse reactions and complications.
- Evaluate patient histories, lab results, and surgical plans to determine an appropriate anesthesia and pain management plan.
- Monitor patient fluid, blood, and electrolyte balance, and other vital signs and critical functions during the course of procedures.
- Perform tracheal intubation, airway management, and extubation.
- Monitor patients following procedures to determine when they can be safely moved from one stage of recovery to the next.
- Take detailed medical history to determine possible allergic or negative reactions to medication.
- Supervise registered nurse anesthetists and other technical staff.
- Mentor and supervise anesthesia providers.
Requirements:
- Board certification in Anesthesiology or board eligibility.
- Residency or fellowship in anesthesia sub-specialty.
- MD or DO degree.
- License to practice medicine in New Hampshire.
- Skilled in the administration techniques of anesthesia, including epidurals and ultrasound-guided anesthesia.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Conversational Spanish or other second language.
