Medical Laboratory Technologist Generalist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist Generalist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist Generalist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory testing and results to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests and calculations to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- Prepare specimens according to standard protocols and procedures.
- Perform quality control procedures and evaluate test performance and results.
- Calibrate, maintain, and monitor equipment used in analytical determinations.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science.
- Current license in the state of practice (if applicable).
- ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on-call availability).
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
- Must be able to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
