Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in interventional procedures, using/ordering/maintaining required materials/supplies for each procedure, knowledge of universal precautions, and personal protective devices to be utilized when operating radiology systems.

About the Role:

">

As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will assist physicians in performing various interventional radiology procedures. You will be responsible for the operation and quality control of radiological equipment in accordance with the Organization's policies, procedures, and training.

Responsibilities:

">
  1. ">
  2. Perform various activities necessary for the preparation of the patient and the procedure room for the radiology procedures in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.">
  3. Reviews patient specific procedure orders to determine materials/supplies that will be needed.">
  4. Sets up/ stocks the procedure room/procedure trays with all needed supplies and interventional equipment prior to procedure and cleans procedure room post procedure, including but not limited to cleaning of equipment/machinery.">
  5. Conducts all necessary preparations of the patient procedure room and documents when appropriate.">
  6. Explains procedure to the patient, answers questions and addresses patient concerns.">
  7. Assists with preparing the patient for the surgical procedure by positioning, shaving and prepping.">
  8. Performs patient transfers and transports patient to and from procedure room.">
  9. Inputs patient data into the C-Arm.">
  10. Acts as scrub assistant assisting the physician during interventional procedures and administers fluoroscopy to enable the physician to see flow through the blood vessels to identify areas in need of intervention while maintaining a sterile technique according to the established company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.">
  11. Complies with HIPPA policies and standards regarding patient confidentiality.">
  12. Draws up intravenous medication and labels as per the organization's medication labeling policy.">
  13. Processes x-ray images and archives to the image repository, CD or DVD to comply with the organization's policies and procedures for patient medical records and state regulations.">
  14. Provides outstanding quality of patient care by supporting and driving the organization's quality standards through meeting regulatory requirements and the practice of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), including use of CQI tools.">
  15. Assists with implementing the organization's quality goals and facility specific action plans to achieve the organization's quality standards.">
  16. Ensures medical records are accurate, complete and in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures. Maintains integrity of medical records, filing paperwork in patient files according to policies and procedures and performing audits on a regular basis.">
  17. Assists with maintaining environmental integrity and aesthetics. Ensures all areas are clean, sanitary, and safe daily Ensures all facility equipment and instruments are in proper working condition by inspecting equipment daily before and after procedures.">
  18. Makes recommendations regarding replacement of equipment and repairs.">
  19. Assists with disposal of hazardous waste materials, dirty linen, and rugs.">
  20. Prepares, organizes, and efficiently utilizes supplies and equipment to prevent waste.">
  21. Attends and participates in Governing Body, assisting with meeting agenda and gathering of data/material for meetings.">
  22. Ensures effective communication with physicians.">
  23. Attends and participates in CQI meetings with physicians, reporting on assigned topics.">
  24. Works with the physicians and staff to ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are on hand.">
  25. Addresses physician concerns in areas of responsibility.">
  26. Assists in training and orienting new employees.">
  27. Ensures patient billing is accurate and timely by reviewing all procedures, documenting patient equipment charges, and verifying CPT and ICD9 codes are correct.">
  28. Assists with inventory, ordering of supplies and re-stocking of supplies.">
  29. Acts as Radiation Safety Officer; monitors radiation badges and conducts in-services regarding radiation safety.">
  30. Participates in all facility regulatory and accreditation surveys and action plans to address any deficiencies identified.">
  31. Other duties as assigned.">

  33. The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and to perform patient transfers and positioning of patients up to 400 pounds. Must be able to stand in a protective apron for up to 45-60 minutes.">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess a High School Diploma, Associate's Degree desirable, and Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred. Current ARRT Certification and/or State Licensure (as per state regulations) and Interventional Radiology certificate preferred. 4 – 6 years' related experience desirable. 1 year experience preferred for Candidates with ARRT.

Salary: $36.00 - $61.00 hourly rate based on qualifications, work location, and experience.
