We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse 3 to serve as our Immunization Program Coordinator. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing the planning and implementation of our immunization program, ensuring that we provide high-quality services to our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the planning and implementation of the immunization program, ensuring compliance with ACIP recommendations and state immunization requirements.
  • Develop strategies to advance the immunization program based on data collection and programmatic assessments.
  • Complete a population-based study annually to assess the percentage of children that are up to date on immunizations by age two.
  • Compile district-wide data for annual immunization assessment to evaluate children 19-35 months of age.
  • Submit a monthly programmatic report that details progress made towards meeting targeted program measurements, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Ensure all providers administer vaccines based on ACIP recommendations by completing at least an annual Quality Assurance Visit at all District 4 Clinics.
  • Ensure county health departments meet Vaccines for Children (VFC) programmatic requirements through audit activities and regular monitoring.
  • Work with the infectious disease program to follow up on all infants born to mothers with hepatitis B infection and coordinate vaccination and testing as needed.
  • Ensure that immunization services are integrated into all other service visits.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the District, providing technical assistance and training for public health nursing staff and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that county staff have proper training and knowledge to perform immunization assessments at all childcare, kindergarten, and seventh-grade programs.
  • Collaborate with the District Immunization Program Consultant to develop an annual educational plan.
  • Complete the Train the Trainer Training annually and ensure that all immunization clinical personnel receive initial and annual training as needed.
  • Ensure programmatic changes and current vaccine information are disseminated to county managers and nurses.
  • Evaluate the vaccination status of disease contacts and public health employees to prevent the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases.
  • Collaborate with the District Epidemiologist and infection disease unit to assess immunization status of patients involved in a vaccine-preventable disease outbreak/investigation.
  • Evaluate the vaccination status of District employees and provide education related to District policy.
  • Provide educational presentations and tools and oversee community marketing efforts.
  • Promote all CDC immunization campaigns through educational outreach and marketing.
  • Assist the District Nursing Director with managing the budget allocation for the program.
  • Work with county health department staff to engage community partners, including school districts, to advance the immunization program.
  • Disseminate pertinent School-based flu Project information and work with county health departments as needed to coordinate School-based flu efforts.
  • Attend Flu Stakeholders' Meetings via phone conference.
  • Ensure county clinics submit accountability forms to the state after a SBF event.
  • Ensure county clinics submit all billing information to the state office for reimbursement after all SBF clinics are completed.
Requirements:
  • PH Licensed Practical Nurse 3
  • Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college
  • Four years of LPN public health experience
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Residents preferred for Emergency Preparedness Planning for the Health Department
  • Public Health Experience a plus
  • Administering Immunizations a MUST
  • GRITS (Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions & Services) a plus
