In the role of Certified Medical Assistant, you will have a vital role in enhancing the lives of our patients daily by supporting our residents in a secure environment that fosters long-term recovery. You will collaborate with the nursing team to ensure that patients receive timely and appropriate care during their stay.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as part of the intake team to ensure clients are attended to promptly.
  • Collect lab samples and conduct urine drug screenings.
  • Supervise urine sample collection, perform onsite tests, and package samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Monitor self-administration of medications, including suboxone and other MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment).
  • Perform data entry and maintain records in the electronic health record system.
  • Ensure adherence to the treatment plan established by the physician or Medical Director.
  • Administer and interpret Mantoux Testing.
  • Schedule appointments for clients with physicians and provide necessary lab work and referrals for follow-up care.
  • Assist in training staff on medical and health safety protocols and ensure proper maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Keep all medical records and documentation related to clients up to date.
  • Maintain communication with community medical professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of policies and procedures for medication compliance.
  • Manage the procurement and ordering of medical supplies.
  • Educate clients about suboxone and vivitrol maintenance, including potential side effects, and provide information on lab results and medical issues.
  • Communicate with and coordinate with pharmacies on behalf of patients and the facility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
