Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure that activities are aligned with the care plans and goals of our residents.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of activity assistants to support the delivery of activities.
  • Manage the budget and resources for the activities program, ensuring that we are providing high-quality programs and services within our means.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and vendors to access resources and opportunities for our residents.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the activities program, making recommendations for improvement and expansion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as recreation, gerontology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a social or recreation program, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • One year of experience as a full-time activities coordinator in a resident activities program or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Basic understanding of computer technology, including email use.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
