Job Summary

The Crosby Independent School District is seeking a skilled Mechanic - Vehicle Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our transportation operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and diagnose vehicle failures to determine the root cause and implement effective repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of vehicle parts.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Document all repair work and maintenance activities in a clear and concise manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of vehicle maintenance schedules and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in auto repair or related field preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and CDL with P and S endorsements required.
  • ASE School Bus Technician certification or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and tools.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the district, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
