Position: Safety Coordinator
The Safety Coordinator is tasked with the critical role of formulating, executing, and supervising extensive safety initiatives and protocols to guarantee a secure working atmosphere for all personnel at Legends Furniture Inc. This role necessitates close collaboration with management, staff, and regulatory bodies to foster safety awareness, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement efforts. Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential for this position. The ideal candidate must reliably arrive on time and maintain regular attendance.
Bilingual Spanish is a REQUIREMENT
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development
- Design and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs that align with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct routine safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and evaluate risks within the workplace.
- Training and Education
- Organize and lead safety training sessions for employees, supervisors, and managers covering topics such as hazard identification, ergonomics, and emergency preparedness.
- Provide ongoing education and resources to cultivate a safety-oriented culture throughout the organization.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting
- Examine accidents, near misses, and other safety-related incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain precise records of incidents, injuries, and safety-related data for reporting and analytical purposes.
- Conduct bi-weekly safety inspections/audits.
- Document all inspections, training sessions, incidents, and workers' compensation claims.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Stay informed about relevant safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and other regulatory requirements through regular audits and inspections.
- Safety Communication
- Act as the primary contact for safety-related inquiries, concerns, and feedback from employees.
- Disseminate safety policies, procedures, and updates to employees through various communication channels.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and crisis management strategies.
- Conduct drills and exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency plans and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety coordination or a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing context.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Must hold First Aid, CPR, and OSHA30 certifications.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
