Job Summary

This is a skilled position involving responsibility for the safe operation of heavy equipment and sampling of Redi-Mix concrete materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for proper collection of materials to be tested, accurate analysis of the materials, and accurate reporting and documentation of results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in daily production meetings and weekly safety meetings to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Assist in plant production of materials and ensure the efficient working condition of the plant.
  • Ensure that all assigned equipment is properly maintained, clean, and in safe working order.
  • Operate front-end loader, skid-steer, and other equipment as needed.
  • Perform plant maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Safely and efficiently collect samples for testing.
  • Perform sampling, testing, and reporting procedures according to established protocol.
  • Promptly report non-compliant tests to the project supervisor when applicable.
  • Maintain daily records of test results and prepare daily reports.
  • Perform daily housekeeping operations and maintain a clean lab environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • One to two years related experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute, rate, ration, percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACI Field Level I certification preferred.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
