Electrical Systems Specialist

Arizona G&T Cooperatives is seeking a highly skilled Plant Electrician to join our team at the Apache Generating Station in Cochise, AZ.

This is a challenging role that requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, high voltage maintenance, and steam turbine operation.

• Conduct thorough inspections of electrical equipment to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and reliability of electrical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex electrical issues and ensure safe operation of the power plant.
• Perform calibration tests on meters and relays to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Assist in the maintenance and testing of electrical devices, apparatus, and equipment at the power station.
• Perform other related duties as required to support the safe and efficient operation of the power plant.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
• A demonstrated working knowledge of 480 and 4160 Volt Switchgear and electrical and electronic systems.
• The ability to read, understand, and work from schematic drawings, prints, wiring diagrams, oral and written instructions, including technical manuals.
• The ability to disassemble and assemble all sizes of electric motors.
• The ability to perform maintenance and repairs on a call-out basis.
