Aeronautical Data Chain Systems Engineer

DCS Corp is seeking a highly skilled Aeronautical Data Chain Systems Engineer to support the Aerospace Management Systems Division Programs at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the design, development, integration, and testing of software used to import, validate, and verify navigational databases.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical oversight and auditing of software used to import, validate, and verify navigational databases.
- Participate in the auditing of contractors and government agencies involved in the production of data meeting FAA Type 1 and Type 2 Letter of Acceptance requirements.
- Review and analyze contractor implementations of systems and associated software services, including design documents, interface control documents, source code, and design implementation.
- Participate in standards development forums for database processing.
- Provide expertise on the Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (DAFIF) format and the ARINC 424 navigational database format.
- Develop verification tools for navigational databases.
- Develop recommendations for the Government on design satisfaction and business goals.
- Participate in team meetings to develop plans and contingencies for system implementation.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to customer-related requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Adjudicated DoD Secret Security clearance on the first day of employment.
- Highly technical background in implementing or auditing compliance to RTCA DO-200B and FAA AC20-153B.
- Strong understanding of how aeronautical data translates into flight paths.
- Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal forms on highly technical topics.
- Ability to travel, with approximately 8 trips per year (80% domestic and 20% international).
