Job Title: Coating & Painting Inspector

At City of Shakopee, MN, we are seeking a highly skilled Coating & Painting Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our coating and painting processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise inspection activities, processes, and relevant suppliers to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage customer and internal non-conformities, tracking and handling the process across the site to ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures on painting technologies based on main international standards, such as ISO 12944 and ISO 8501.
  • Supervise requested clients' witness tests (second-party) and support customer/project specification providing technical solutions and related costs.
  • Collaborate with Supply Management, Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to support and lead coating/painting quality improvements in supplier performance and development.
  • Train and qualify coating and painting personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Promote continuous improvement on production processes and inspection activities, and relevant documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Support Quality Assurance activities, such as internal, third-party, and suppliers' audits, to ensure the quality and compliance of our coating and painting processes.
Requirements:
  • NACE 2/3 and FROSIO 2/3 certified coating inspector.
  • 5+ years of experience in coating/painting activities within a mechanical manufacturing company, preferably in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical sector.
  • Proven experience in corrosion engineering or a related role, such as paint inspection & monitoring.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, such as ISO 12944 and ISO 8501.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance methodology and experience in production quality control.
  • Ability to use technical proficiencies to validate cost accounting and excellent knowledge of Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Proficient in English and availability for occasional trips abroad for auditing or product support activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP solid understanding.
  • Lead Auditor certification.
  • Knowledge of ATEX and PED directives.
