Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team at Jefferson Parish, LA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our warehouse, ensuring that all operations are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct the ordering, receiving, and distributing of supplies, materials, parts, and/or equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance of orderly and safe warehouses through subordinate supervisory and warehouse personnel.
  • Perform administrative and managerial duties to maintain and manage assigned staff, including instructing, assigning, and reviewing activities.
  • Prepare annual warehouse operations budget and monitor adherence to established budgetary parameters.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Extensive (approx. five years), paid work experience in a supervisory capacity in a large warehouse or comparable facility.
  • Experience must include inventory management, including conducting physical counts, overseeing receipt of goods, setting safety stock levels, preparing orders, maintaining inventory records, and managing material storage and distribution.
  • Related education, experience, and/or professional certification(s) above and beyond the minimum qualifications will be required for consideration of an entrance salary above the minimum rate.
Benefits
  • Vacation (Annual Leave): Employees accumulate one half day of paid vacation for every two weeks worked.
  • Sick Leave: Employees accumulate one half day of paid sick leave for every two weeks worked.
  • Holidays: Nine paid official holidays are observed, plus any holidays declared by Parish Officials.
  • Life Insurance: All regular employees receive a life insurance policy equal to one year's salary.
  • Medical Insurance: An HMO medical insurance plan is available for employees and their dependents.
  • A Flexible Benefits Plan: Employees have the opportunity to save money by paying for health insurance and optional insurance with pre-tax dollars.
  • Retirement: Most regular employees belong to the Parochial Employees' Retirement System instead of the Social Security System.
  • Tenure Payment: Employees are paid $25 per year of service in December of each year.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan (457b plan): Similar to 401K programs, the 457b Deferred Plan allows employees to defer up to $14,000 of pretax income each year to supplement retirement savings.
