Clinical Psychologist

The University of California-Davis is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing clinical evaluations, suicide risk assessment, psychological testing, counseling, and case management to inmates in the Sacramento County jails.
This is a critical position that requires a strong understanding of psychological assessment, clinical interviewing techniques, and diagnostic criteria. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adult psychiatric patients and be proficient in the use of various assessments, including the M-FAST, BPRS, SIRS-2, PAI, MMPI-2, SIMS, TOMM, and WASI.
The successful candidate will be able to provide consultation, interpret clinical findings and diagnosis, make recommendations regarding treatment, care, and disposition. They will also be able to perform appropriate statistical analyses as required and have excellent writing, verbal, and planning skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical evaluations, suicide risk assessment, and psychological testing to inmates in the Sacramento County jails.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for inmates with mental health issues.
- Provide counseling and case management services to inmates and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to inmates.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve mental health services.
Requirements:
- California Licensed Psychologist (PSYCH)
- California State License by the Board of Psychology
- Ph.D. or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
- Experience working with adult psychiatric patients
- Strong understanding of psychological assessment, clinical interviewing techniques, and diagnostic criteria
- Proficient in the use of various assessments, including the M-FAST, BPRS, SIRS-2, PAI, MMPI-2, SIMS, TOMM, and WASI
- Excellent writing, verbal, and planning skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a jail, hospital, or correctional setting
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system, state hospital system, forensic mental health, Probation, Parole, and Department of Corrections
Work Environment:
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with many interruptions during the day. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a stressful, hazardous environment with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
