Job Summary

Acadia Healthcare is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Associate 3 to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing of our patients and providing a positive, supportive, and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety through timely completion of required rounds and maintain a clean and uncluttered patient room.
  • Obtain patient vital signs, height, and weight as assigned and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Identify yourself to patients and visitors promptly and respond to patient requests in a timely manner.
  • Engage with patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
  • Respond to distressed patients in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of distress.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques to help manage patient emotions, behavior, and participation in treatment.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to provide safety and increase coping skills of patients and assist in developing strategies for independence.
  • Monitor behavioral improvements and reinforce positive behaviors, reporting changes and responses to treatment to the team.
  • Reinforce skills patients learn from nurses, physicians, and therapists that promote improved physical and mental wellness.
  • Lead or co-lead individual or group sessions as part of specific recreational or therapeutic procedures.
  • Participate in rehabilitation and treatment programs and teach strategies to promote patient wellness and independence.
  • May oversee or assist patients with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration, and changing bed linens.
  • Deliver care based on the priority of needs and available resources to the specific service population of the facility.
  • May assist with admissions and discharges.
  • Provide guidance and direction to other staff members, including training of new staff.
  • May provide transportation for patients or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff members.
  • Exhibit quality work through accuracy, neatness, and timeliness of work completed.
  • Adhere to work schedule and overall attendance.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers at all times.
