Position Overview:
The Facilities Department at The Gladstone Institutes is in search of a Senior Building Engineer. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge in HVAC systems and building automation to ensure the efficient maintenance and operation of our facilities. Key responsibilities include executing preventive and corrective maintenance on various building systems, with a strong background in carpentry, electrical systems, and plumbing. This role demands strong independent problem-solving capabilities, project management skills, and the flexibility to respond to after-hours emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and air compressors.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on a range of building equipment.
- Utilize a computerized building management system for tracking work orders and managing equipment inventory.
- Assist in the administration of the preventive maintenance schedule for building systems.
- Provide emergency response and on-call support as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance and repair.
- Supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Expertise in building systems operations and automation is essential.
Knowledge Required:
- Understanding of building equipment and systems operations.
- Familiarity with Building Automation Systems.
