Job Summary

Kiewit Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Distribution Engineer to join our Power Delivery team. As a Distribution Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cost-effective solutions for upgrading, expanding, and maintaining overhead and underground power distribution systems for our utility clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical system studies to identify opportunities for improvement and expansion of power distribution systems.
  • Develop and prepare distribution line designs, including planning design construction sequences and developing new work through existing relationships.
  • Accurately develop and maintain complex computer models of the electric delivery system to simulate the operation of the electric delivery system.
  • Prepare cost-effective system expansion plans using good engineering practices.
  • Effectively communicate detailed documentation and plans of a complex design with other work groups.
  • Incorporate employee and public safety as a priority into the design and operation of all projects.
  • Develop new processes and tools that benefit the group in the analysis of the electric system and multiple large data sets of historical operating conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • EIT with the ability to become registered PE.
  • 5+ years of applicable electric utility experience.
  • Technical decision making, good interpersonal skills, organization skills, and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess a current knowledge of electric utility rules, technical, administrative and regulatory requirements for reliable, safe operation of the system.

  • Work in a fast-paced office environment, interacting professionally with all levels of management while managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively.
  • Travel in the U.S. and internationally (5-15% as needed).
