Job Title: Staff Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Psychiatrist to join our team at Merced County, CA. As a key member of our Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Staff Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing general, acute, and continuing psychiatric care to patients in our mental health and alcohol and drug centers. This includes emergency on-call and call-back consultations, as well as collaborating with other medical and substance abuse practitioners to develop effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychiatric care to patients in our mental health and alcohol and drug centers
  • Conduct emergency on-call and call-back consultations
  • Collaborate with other medical and substance abuse practitioners to develop treatment plans
  • Order laboratory work and nursing follow-up care as needed
  • Complete medical and court records in accordance with mandated standards
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
Requirements:
  • Valid license to practice psychiatry issued by the California Medical Board
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatric Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
